FREQUENTELY ASKED QUESTIONS Faqs

To reserve a puppy from one of our litters, you’ll need to complete our puppy reservation form and submit a non-refundable deposit. The deposit ensures your place on the waitlist and secures your spot for when puppies are available. Deposits typically range from $500 to $1,000 depending on the litter. The remaining balance is due when the puppy is ready to go home at 8 weeks old.
We recommend placing your deposit as soon as you know you’d like to reserve a puppy. Our puppies are often in high demand, and we work on a first-come, first-served basis. Depositing early increases your chances of selecting the puppy you want from the litter.
Once the puppies are born and we have confirmed their health, we will begin sending regular updates and photos to our waiting list. At around 6 weeks of age, we will notify you when it’s time to choose your puppy. You’ll be able to select a puppy based on your preferences, such as temperament, color, and coat type. If you are not sure which puppy is the best fit for your family, we are happy to help you make an informed decision based on the puppies’ personalities and your needs.

Puppies are typically ready to go home at 8 weeks old. This ensures that they are fully weaned, socialized, and have received their first round of vaccinations and deworming treatments. You will be notified when your puppy is ready to be picked up, and we will provide you with a health certificate from our vet to ensure your puppy is healthy and ready for their new home.

When you purchase a puppy from Thompson Family Kennels LLC, you will receive:

  • A health guarantee for your puppy.
  • Veterinary health check with vaccinations and deworming up to date.
  • Microchip for identification.
  • Pedigree documentation showing the puppy’s lineage.
  • A puppy starter kit, including food, treats, a blanket, collar, and leash.
  • Socialization and early training to ensure your puppy is well-adjusted.
  • Ongoing support for the life of your puppy, including training and care advice.

When you come to pick up your puppy, please bring a safe, secure crate for transport. If you’re picking up the puppy in person, we recommend having a blanket or towel in the crate that smells like home to help them settle into their new environment. Also, ensure that you have your final payment ready (if not already paid in full).

Yes, we do offer delivery or shipping options for puppies to ensure they can get to their new homes safely. This may include hand-delivery, flight nanny services, or other reputable shipping methods. Shipping costs vary depending on the method and location, and we can provide an estimate based on your area.

Yes! We welcome visits to Thompson Family Kennels LLC by appointment. Visiting allows you to see the puppies in their environment, interact with them, and meet the parents if they are available. If you are unable to visit in person, we provide regular photo and video updates so you can follow along with the puppies’ progress.

The remaining balance for your puppy is due when they are ready to go home at 8 weeks of age. We accept payments through cash, bank transfer, or PayPal. We recommend paying before your pickup date to ensure everything is in order for the day you bring your puppy home.

The first few days with your new puppy are an exciting adjustment period for both you and your new pet. Your puppy may experience some mild stress or homesickness, so it’s important to provide a calm, safe environment. Establish a consistent routine for feeding, potty breaks, and crate training. Make sure to provide plenty of love, patience, and positive reinforcement as they settle into their new home.

We understand that circumstances can change, but please note that deposits are non-refundable. However, if you are unable to take your puppy home due to unforeseen circumstances, we will work with you to find a solution, such as transferring your reservation to a future litter.
